While those riding mobility scooters are generally considered pedestrians, it is illegal in Australia to operate a mobility scooter or electric wheelchair while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Depending where you are, these laws may be a little different, especially surrounding mobility aids. So, it's best to check the local laws before sitting back with a nice cold beer, especially if you're travelling. In Australia, it will be the same as your state's legal blood alcohol content for vehicles.
